this is one of the palazzo ducale’s doors with the st mark’s lion and a doge kneeling in front of him.
this is actually a pretty rare thing because whereas there used to kneel a doge in front of almost every st mark’s lion in venice they are now gone because napoleon had them removed in order to extinct any remembrance of the doge’s reign.
