i discovered this hospital during my last stay in venice and this time we even dared to go inside. it is amazing. it used to be a catholic clerical building (la scuola grande di san marco for lay brothers) until it was turned into an austrian hospital in 1808.
now that i’ve seen it from the inside i love it even more because it is just as beautiful and impressive as it is on the outside. i will definitely try to do an internship in this hospital next summer.
